Man in jail after being caught in the act;

One man is in jail after being caught breaking into a shed at a residence in Courtenay.
On January 7, 2019 the Comox Valley RCMP received a call from a resident reporting that they believed their shed had been broken into and that the suspect might still be inside.
Frontline members and Police Dog Services quickly went to the area and located the suspect standing nearby the shed at the residence. Police Services Dog, Hammer, was ready to assist when the suspect was told he was under arrest and made the decision to run away from police.
“It didn’t take long for Hammer to catch up to the suspect” said Cst. Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer, Comox Valley RCMP. “The suspect was taken into police custody where he was held to appear in court in the morning” she added.

27-year old Graham Arthur Earle was charged with mischief and has since been convicted and sentenced to 14 days in custody and one year of probation.
