Suspicious occurrence in Courtenay

On April 28, 2020 the Comox Valley RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle allegedly following a woman in Courtenay.

The suspicious incident happened over the weekend, on April 25th at approximately 1:50 p.m. in the area of Piercy Avenue and 21st Street in Courtenay. A 58-year old woman reported being followed by a yellow/brown coloured, older, import vehicle. The woman felt that she was being obviously followed for approximately 20 minutes as she walked through the area.

“We are sharing this information with our residents for a couple of reasons” said Cst. Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer, Comox Valley RCMP. “First, we’d like to hear from anyone else who has experienced a similar incident with this vehicle. Additionally, we’d like to remind our residents to call and report anything suspicious. It is so important for us to gather information about what is going on in our community so that we can identify problem areas and address those areas.” she added.

The woman was able to provide investigators with the licence plate number of the vehicle and police are following up with the registered owner.
