What is 529 Garage?

Bike theft is a significant problem in the Comox Valley. So the local RCMP are taking action to not only reduce the number of bike thefts but also to get more of the stolen bikes recovered back to their owners. During Bike to Work Week in the Comox Valley look for members of the RCMP, their auxiliary, & Comox Valley Crime Stoppers to be at “Celebration Stations” encouraging bike owners to sign up for the free 529 Garage smartphone app. Users of the app record the details of their bike and even a photo of it on the app database. If the bike is ever stolen an alert can be sent out to other users of the app and the bike can be easily identified. A 529 shield decal may be given out free to those bike owners who sign up for the 529 Garage app & register their bike at the

Celebration Stations.
