Between April 11th and April 17th, the Comox Valley RCMP received 8 calls regarding thefts from vehicles. Items taken from these vehicles included licence plates, a cellphone, an amp and speakers, fender flares, change, snowshoes and a tent. The Comox Valley RCMP continue to reminding residents to ensure your vehicle is locked at all times, while unattended, and that nothing of value is left in it.
A break, enter and theft at a residence located on the 2300 block of Elmo Road, in Courtenay, was reported to the Comox Valley RCMP on April 11th. Sometime during the day, an unknown person(s) had broken into the residence and stolen sporting equipment.
A mischief to property report was made to the Comox Valley RCMP on April 11th. During the afternoon, an unknown vehicle had pulled into the gravel driveway of a property located on the 200 block of Powerhouse Road, in Courtenay. The vehicle then did a donut, causing damage to the driveway.
On April 12th, the Comox Valley RCMP received a report of mischief to a vehicle. The vehicle had been parked on the 4600 block of Aldergrove Drive, in Courtenay overnight. An unknown person(s) had caused damage to the vehicle by scratching it. The hood, trunk and both sides of the car was scratched, causing severe damage.
While on patrol on Highway 19, near Union Bay on April 14th, a Comox Valley RCMP member located a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. It was found the vehicle was travelling at 192 Km/h in the 120 Km/h speed zone. The driver was served an excessive speed violation ticket and the vehicle was impounded.
A theft of a bicycle was reported to the Comox Valley RCMP on April 14th. The bike had been in a bike rack on the 1500 block of Lerwick Road, in Courtenay. The bike is described as being a Red and Silver Kona Big Kahuna.
A Comox Valley RCMP Municipal Traffic member, while on Patrol, located a vehicle travelling at an excessive speed, on Ryan road in Courtenay on April 14th. The vehicle had been travelling 138 km/h in the 60 km/h speed zone. As a result, the driver was issued a violation ticket for excessive speed and the vehicle was impounded.
A business break, enter and theft was reported to the Comox Valley RCMP on April 15th. Sometime during the day, an unknown person(s) had broken into a storage locker located on the 1700 block of Ryan Road East, in Courtenay. Two mens mountain bikes were stolen. One bike is described as being a Lime Green, 18 speed, Santa Cruz Blur. The other bike s a White specialized and described as having stickers on it. Other lockers in the area were broken into as well, nothing reported stolen at this time.
A report of Mischief was reported to the Comox Valley RCMP on April 16th. A fence, located on the 2000 block of 20th Street, in Courtenay was damaged by spray paint. There was other damage done in the area as well by an unknown person(s).
During the early morning hours of April 17th, a traffic stop was conducted with a vehicle in the Union Bay area, by a Comox Valley RCMP member. As a result of the stop, an impaired driving investigation was initiated. It was found that the driver had consumed alcohol before operating the vehicle. The driver was issued a 90 day immediate Driving Prohibition and the vehicle was impounded.
A residential break, enter and theft was reported to the Comox Valley RCMP on April 17th. The residence, located on the 5300 block of Island Highway North, in Courtenay had been broken into sometime over the weekend. Several tools had been stolen.
The Comox Valley RCMP received a report of a break, enter and theft from a fenced compound, located on the 4800 block of Island Highway North, in Courtenay, on April 17th. An unknown person(s) had broken into the compound and stolen 4 truck wheels.
