Comox Valley police are looking for the persons  responsible for a break in and attempted theft at a local store. On August 1st at about 2:50 AM a witness who works for a local business interrupted two males who were inside the Diary Queen store on Cliffe Ave in Courtenay. The males had disabled the primary alarm and siren then smashed the side door to gain entrance to the store. They were in the process of attacking the safe with a grinder when they were surprised by the delivery person. The males fled the store to a waiting vehicle. A secondary alarm was still functioning and notified both the alarm company and the police. The suspect vehicle is described as an older blue minivan possible 1990. There are no descriptions of the suspects at this time,  however Comox Valley forensic ident section attended and evidence as well as a tape were seized at scene. The crime remains under investigation.
